OpenMic (2008)

OpenMic is a videogame that was designed to explore the possibilities of non-verbal human voice input as an alternative and innovative human-computer interaction method. The project provides a new perspective on human voice usage in human-computer interaction and introduces a speech-independent and sound-based approach. OpenMic uses lower-level properties of the human voice such as pitch and volume to control an object on the screen. Besides being entertaining in a unique way, our introduced interaction method can also be useful in combination with existing forms of human-computer interaction.
